Early First Mow

Jose Mowed all the greens on Wednesday, March 9.  That's 11 days earlier than I've ever mowed at Lansing.  He cut collars on Thursday and greens again Friday ahead of my first chemical application.  I like to spray a chemical that reduces Poa seed heads.  Alex also changed cups for the first time.  Bong Kim and the boys have been playing the same locations all winter.  As it get warmer and with some rain, the color of the greens should even out and look normal.

If you look closely, you can see the sand hill cranes heading North.

Tulips and daffodils have started growing

After a nice warm up, we started mowing but still no carts for a while.  Sunday brought rain and the ground is very soft as the frost melted.

Jose and I didn't quite finish all the ash tree removal.  We will bring in some guys this week to continue clean up, start mowing  and put out some course accessories.  When it dries and Jim gets some help in the pro shop, we'll let out carts.
